Everyone needs to get a haircut at some point, but sometimes they don't exactly know what they want nor what they need. Whether it's the fault of the customer or the stylist, sometimes people come out with haircuts and styles that are simply too much (or too little). When you're getting your hair done, you have to take care as to who is going to cut your hair. Otherwise, you could end up like many of the people on this list. If you want to see some of the most disastrous haircuts we've ever seen, all you need to do is kee scrolling.
Awkward Sideburns And a Blue Scalp
There are so many things wrong with this haircut. First of all, whose idea was it to leave those awkward sideburns? And whoever did the coloring obviously didn't know how to space it out well. But perhaps the saddest part about this haircut overall is the fact that his skin has been dyed along with his hair and is incredibly obvious. It's like the whole point of the style is to show off how many mistakes you can make.
Honestly, this makes us want to swear off the hair dye for good. We don't want to end up walking around with blue skin peeking out from underneath like this guy.
Tattooed-On Hair
Speaking of dyed skin, it looks like this guy actually had the sense to use it to his advantage. Either he dyed his hair so black that when he shaved it off this is what he got (unlikely) or he drew the whole thing in with a permanent marker. Alternatively, this could be a tattoo, but who would want to have tattooed comic book hair for the rest of their lives?
Well, whatever it is, it sure is an interesting way to deal with a lack of hair. Although, thinking about it, using a wig is probably more effective than this.
The Curtains Match The Drapes
There's keeper your hair groomed, and then there's this. This person was trying so hard to have a neat haircut that he ended up looking like he just came out of the dryer. Every time we look at his hair we think he's wearing some type of fur hat. If you're going to keep your hair long like this, then you need to let it be more natural. Put down the comb.
It's fine to grow your hair out, but let it grow out a little naturally. Maybe the most unnatural thing about this is the ironed-out beard. Even the neatly groomed unibrow is better than that.
Multi-Cultural
We're not even going to comment about who should be wearing cornrows, but you've got to be some sort of crazy to wear cornrows in the back o your head finish it off with a completely different style of hair in the front. There isn't even any attempt at an integration here. You can only see one haircut from both angles as if one is meant to be hiding the other at all times.
We're not sure what this guy was trying to accomplish but it isn't working. He should consider going all the way with one of his haircuts and save himself the embarrassment.
Half-Bald
Speaking of going all the way through with the haircut, this person should have the same consideration. We agree that whatever hair is left over does look healthy and once, but maybe if you're going to go with the bald look then you might want to go all the way with it. It just seems so unnatural to not at least make that a buzzcut like the rest of his hair.
He clearly shaves some of it, but not all of it. The only thing we can think is that it might help keep him warm in the snow like some sort of scarf.
Hair Bristles
We're not sure if this was a case of bad timing and the wind was blowing this man's comb-over the other way, but whatever it is, it isn't great. This is the type of photo you look at and then ask your friends why no one told you you looked like that. There's no way that this can be on purpose because the hair isn't even symmetrical enough to spike it up.
Whatever it is, we feel bad for him. It seems like this is a pretty formal photo and there is no way that this is ever going to be forgotten.
A Piece of Plastic
This person's hairline receded to a perfect semicircle around the top of his head, so when he decided to grow it out it looked like they had cut his hair in half to show the cross-section. It looks like some sort of plastic piece placed onto the back of his head. Maybe he should have tattooed the rest of it in like the other guy. At least he doesn't look like he's hating it.
Still, we can't look at it and not laugh a little. We would have suggested a more flattering haircut to not accentuate the amount of head that has no hair on it.
Tailwind
According to the poster, this guy is a Subaru salesman. We're wondering if the weird haircut helps sell any cars. Maybe it helps him sell the convertibles, showing off just how much of a wild time he's been having with them. Though, to be fair, the direction his hair is going in looks like he was driving backward. Do you think he actually wanted to have his hair look like this?
If he was trying to do a mohawk, he should have shaved the hair further back than that. He probably should have just gone with a shorter length, in truth.
A Little off the Bottom
When someone tells you to give them a short haircut, they probably don't mean this. This guy was probably trying to get some kind of undercut when the barber shaved the sides too high and didn't leave enough hair length for what was left over to cover it all up. Now he's a guy with barely any hair and an extremely large forehead. Not a good haircut if you ask us.
Whoever did this needs to go back to get some more training. There is no way anyone would actually want a mop of hair up top and the rest completely shaved off.
Avatar the Last Hairbender
This person was watching a YouTube Video when this ad came up. They said they "weren't ready" for what they saw. You might not notice it right away, but look at it long enough and you'll see exactly what they were talking about. The guy in the middle row has a small patch of hair right in the back of his head but no where else is it even visible.
We see a lot of people still holding on to as many patches of hair as they can when they go bald, but what kind of person keeps this random patch of hair intact?
Back to the Future
This guy looks like what the 60s thought the future would look like. This is something we might expect in a "Star Trek" episode or something from "Back to the Future". The hair on to is admittedly post-modern enough, but the addition of mutton chops is what makes this whole thing so weird. It's like he doesn't know what era he's trying to come from, yet he's somehow so confident in the look.
We definitely want to know where he got this idea from. And how do you even get your hair to look like that? Do you stick it in a vacuum with some hair gel?
Just Wrong
We actually feel like there is some potential in this hairstyle. If you straighten out the blonde kid's dreads to make them a little more symmetrical, it might be alright. We think the biggest problem with this, though, is who is rocking the hair. These kids don't look nearly old enough to be dealing with a style of this caliber. Not to mention the number of tattoos they each have.
Put this hair on someone older, then maybe, just maybe, it would look alright. But these kids just look like they are trying too hard to be someone they are not.
Almost Had It
The poster of this photo on Reddit, Cory0527, said of the photo, "Came home from work this evening to see that my wife gave my kid a Karen cut". We don't know why parents insist on doing their own kids' haircuts. Unless you actually have some skill, you don't need to save that couple of bucks. Just get your kid a regular haircut or they're going to end up with hair that looks like this:
If the hair in the back wasn't so messed up then this could be redeemable. But everything was just cut so unevenly that we think she's going to have to grow it out again.
A Little Crooked
You'd think that if you are going through all the trouble to grow out a pencil-thin goatee that you might try to do it right. This guy decided to try to grow one and he ended up shaving it into the wrong part of his face. He left it about an inch off the wrong side and we can't unsee it. You'd think he would notice and take the 0.2 seconds to trim it off.
You can always grow it back, that's the great thing about facial hair. It isn't that great of a style anyway. No one would have been sad if he went without it for another week.
Russian Marge Simpson
If you were looking for some inspiration for a new hairstyle, you might want to turn to Marge from "The Simpsons". Then again, that wild 5-foot blue haircut may not actually be the most practical thing to have on your head. That's why this woman, whose picture was "stolen from the Russian subreddit" on Reddit decided that the best way to make use of such a style would be to cut a few inches off the top.
Not going to lie, it really looks like she did that and took a hedge trimmer to it. If she dyed her hair blue and painted her skin yellow, she'd have the perfect Marge costume.
A Literal Tooth
Maybe a Marge Simpson haircut isn't the most practical thing, but back in the 60s, tall haircuts were all the rage (and that's not to mention the Marie Antoinette haircuts that were all the rage in the late 1700s). Just take a look at this woman. Maybe this wouldn't be the most successful style these days, but we have a feeling that it may have made her really popular back then.
Now, however, this is just a tragedy. Not to mention the amount of damage that the hairspray probably did to the ozone layer. It kind of looks like a molar tooth.
Don't Let Your Mother Cut Your Hair
"My mom took up a haircutting course about 9 years ago," explains the poster of this next image. "With little practice she confidentially lured my brother in for a haircut. This is the result. Now I can't make eye contact with my brother without laughing." This haircut is interesting because it kind of looks like a proper haircut for a lady that was shrunk down in size and glued to his head.
We feel bad that he decided to let his mom do this. After coming out with hair like this, he should have just asked her to shave the whole thing off.
Don't Let Your Father Cut It Either
An undercut is typically exactly what it sounds like. You shave the hair to very short or basically buzzcut from the bottom with the hair on top being much longer and potentially draping down over the shaved hair. It works really well as well with hair that you tie up in a bun or ponytail, so this person decided to get another cut like that. Unfortunately, he decided the best idea was to ask for help.
He explained that this was "The result of asking my dad to go over my outgrown undercut again. Said he didn't want to 'accidentally shave too far'." He certainly won't be asking for help again.
Had to Leave Something
Speaking of undercuts being good for ponytails, it seems like this next person thought the same. Thing is, he seems to barely have any hair on top to be able to finish off the look, so instead he decided to keep some of the hair on the side. If we're going to be blunt, it didn't turn out well. Someone just took a razor to his hair and just cut it straight down.
The sad thing is that he might have actually looked pretty good if this decision wasn't made. Unfortunately, it seems like he's going to have to live with this for a little while.
Trying Something New
Sometimes famous people also make fashion choices that are decidedly bad. When it came to Jay-Z's hairstyling this one time, we weren't exactly sure that it was the best decision for him. The Weeknd pulled off a style similar to this one, but he actually looked good. Perhaps it was because his hair wasn't sticking out like a hurricane had just blown by. Or maybe he just knows how to look good.
Either way, we don't think Jay-Z should ever go down this path again. At least, not unless he gets a bit of assistance in making it look a bit more his age. No offense.
Crying
Perhaps even worse, though, is this woman's haircut. There's a saying that it takes a little bit of growing out for your haircut to settle, but we don't think that this one is redeemable in any way. We don't exactly know what happened to her, but there's no way that whoever did this is a professional hairstylist. Not even a barber would make these mistakes. It looks like she might have had gum stuck in her hair.
The look on her face says it all. She looked in the mirror and instantly regretted doing whatever it was that got her this haircut. Good thing it'll all grow out.
Adidas Fanboy
There's being dedicated to a brand and then there's this. Have you ever met someone who was so crazy for a brand that they shaved their logo into their hair? Well, how about someone who was so crazy for a brand that they shaved all of their hair off except for the section with the brand. Never seen it before? Well, just take a look at this kid over here.
We're not sure what he's angry about. The logo looks perfect! Though we wouldn't be happy either if we looked like a baby who was born with an Adidas logo for hair.
An Old Classic
Here we have another old haircut, possibly from the 70s or 80s. What gave it away was the crazy way that people used to get their hair to stay a certain way. There's a certain look when someone does this. It's typically crunchy-looking hair with patches of brushing and combing in certain places. This girl seems to have gone through all the steps to make that crazy mid to late 1900s hair.
For a kid, it is pretty cute. That's why we can give this one a bit of a pass. But we're sure someone out there looked like this as an adult and to that, we say no.
Too Much Glue
Sometimes you have to cut your losses. And by "cut your losses", we pretty much mean that literally. If you are going bald, it isn't all that bad. Many people look really good when they embrace their baldness, so if you're thinking of trying to save the little bit of hair that you have left, you might want to rethink that decision. Otherwise, you might end up like this guy.
It's one thing to try to save your hair, it's another thing to glue what's left of it up like your some sort of punk rocker. And the proud look on his face doesn't really help much. "But my build isn't too skinny either"-- in case you were wondering.
Pineapple Head
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? That's the only thing we can think whenever we see this. We just have to know who the guy that voluntarily did this to their hair is. We have no idea what would compel someone to do something like this to themselves. Granted, the illusion works really well. That is most definitely a pineapple. But it's also a ridiculous and novel haircut.
Maybe this was supposed to be part of a costume or something. Honestly, we're going to stop trying to find an explanation behind this. Please just don't do what he did.
The Barcode
What would life be like if we were able to buy some hair with a quick scan of the barcode? Actually, there is a lot of that these days. With extensions and wigs and everything in between, you can quite literally buy your hair at a store. That being said, you wouldn't typically style your hair into a barcode itself, right? But it seems like this person did so inadvertently.
We're actually not sure what to do about this one. We're just happy this image exists because without this person's hair we wouldn't be laughing as hard as we are now.
The Loofah
Big bombastic hair is something that can and should be done, but only when you know what you're doing. There are times when you can pull of the most interesting haircuts and get looks of amazement sent your way. But sometimes people are a bit too enthusiastic about their looks and think that they are doing the right thing. We're talking about whatever the heck this thing is on top of his head.
Is it a paintbrush? Maybe a loofa? As perfectly calculated as everything is, we can't possibly condone this sort of hair. It's just too much for anyone to handle right now.
More Room for Makeup
Upon first glance, you might think that this headband-wearing woman is on this list due to her crazy lightning-struck hair. Well, if that's the case, you might want to take another look at her. For whatever reason, this woman decided to shave her hair down to the scalp only past where her bangs begin. What we initially thought was a headband was actually the continuation of her eyeliner and eyeshadow!
We have no idea why anyone would try a haircut as daring as this one. But one thing's for sure: that lock and chain necklace definitely fits the vibe perfectly.
The Splitting of the Sea
This haircut is all sorts of messed up. Usually, when you get an exaggerated part in your hair it's supposed to stand out just a bit more than brushing your hair to the sides. This, on the other hand, is taken to the next level. This person's barber (we hesitate to actually call them a stylist) decided to shave a strip out of his poor hair...and then some.
They also did a terrible job with the undercut, so now this guy has to walk around with not only bald spots but really uneven layers as well. Someone get this guy a stylist, please.
Too Proud for This
Speaking of walking around with a bald spot, this guy was so bold as to give himself artificial male-pattern baldness. It looks like he took a razor and just swept it through the whole front of his head. He doesn't seem very unhappy about it. Rather, he seems pretty fond of it. Proud, even. We think he did this to himself on purpose. The only question is why? Lord knows.
Maybe it was a dare, maybe not. At our high school, they used to cut the hair of the swimmers in ridiculous ways before they shaved everything off. Maybe it's that? If you find out, let us know.
Couldn't Decide
This guy seems to not know exactly how he wants his hair, so he went with the best of both worlds...not that this is the best of anything. Dreadlocks are cool. Faded and styled buzzcuts are cool, too. But what even is this? We think he might be trying to get extra use out of that hairline outline tattoo he's got. If he went fool dreads, it probably wouldn't look as normal.
That's why you should think your tattoos through before getting them. The saddest part about this is that he probably would look good if he actually decided on a hairstyle.
A Literal Rat Tail
When referring to a thin mullet or a really small ponytail, you might be inclined to call it a rat tail. It seems this next person took that phrase and made some literal meaning out of it. He went for a close shave all around the back except for a part of his hair where he got it fashioned into a literal rat--tail included. Now that's what we call a rat tail.
All jokes aside, this is the most ridiculous haircut we've ever seen. Why try to justify the rat tail? If you like it so much, just own it. Maybe this is their version of reclaiming their body.
The Same Thing From the Middle
Speaking of rat tails, what do you think you get when you stick that on the center of your scalp? Probably this. We don't know what's happening with this guy's hair, but judging by the copious amounts of gel in his hair, we feel that he probably thinks that this is stylish. To each their own, we guess. But if you ask us, this strip of hair looks like the kind you get on a cartoon baby.
Ever heard of the peanut snack Bamba? They have a mascot with that kind of hair. That's probably as close to a style as this guy's haircut is going to get.
Whatever This Is
Okay, bear with us. If you look at the first photo and ignore the large rubber bun on the back of this dude's head, it actually doesn't look too bad. But that's the thing: there's no ignoring what comes next. This man, for whatever reason, got a haircut around some very specific amount of hair. It kind of maybe looks like he's using it to cover up the balding towards the front?
Whatever it is, it sure is weird. If you took him to a toupe shop and stuck one on his head without proper fitting, you'd probably achieve the same results.
Yet Another Old Classic
You know, this next one might not have been so bad were it not for the fact that it's almost 2022 and this style of facial hair has gone way out of style by centuries. We don't know if this guy is living out some sort of ye olde fantasy or something, but he thought a good idea would be to fashion his facial hair in a way that it connects to his mustache.
The problem is this guy's an average Joe, blue-collar and all. He needs to don a knight's outfit or some royal attire before we find this any type of acceptable.
