Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that you either love or hate. For couples, it’s a great time to celebrate and show your love for your significant others with gifts and chocolates. For single people, it can be spent loathing the fact that, unlike your friends, you aren’t in a relationship. But the best part of Valentine’s Day is always children! They don’t fully understand the holiday, but they always do their best to take part anyway. We’ve gathered a few examples of honest Children's Valentine’s Day cards that show just how much they care. Let’s get things started!
Outside of the Box
We love the effort put into this one! You can tell what the kid was trying to do, but it just didn’t come out the way they had probably intended it to. Hopefully whoever received this card didn’t take it too hard. We think this card would still be enough to brighten up someone’s day. If not because you get to see your reflection, then because of the laughs. It’s a great card!
This kid is thinking outside of the box with this is a clever idea! It’s just a shame that foil crumbled and doesn’t allow you to see your reflection first place.
One Eye Open
If we were this child’s parents, we would be sleeping with one eye open after receiving this Valentine’s Day card. The cute decorations with the slightly threatening message are the work of a child who is close to being unhinged! We still love it though. It’s cute, funny, and a bit scary. Everything you need for a good holiday! We hope this child’s parents got a big laugh out of this.
This card is funny. It’s a scary one, too. But at least the kid’s parents will never have to wonder how their child truly feels about them. We do not want a card like this!
Red
This Valentine’s Day note is straight to the point. The Roses are red. So are violets. And we imagine if you had heat laser or heat vision like the man drawn in the photo, everything else would be red as well. Maybe this is a joke between the child who draw this and the person he gave it to. Either way, we love it! This kid has a future as an illustrator.
This is why children are the best on Valentine’s Day. This letter makes no sense, but whoever received it probably loved it very much. We all need a silly letter like this some days.
Risky
Wow! The soldier who was on the receiving end of this letter probably appreciated the sentiment, but the message may have made him a bit worried. As for the kid who wrote the letter, we only can guess that he means that it will be a while before the soldier sees his family again. We really hope that’s what he means. Either way, this is a hilarious and risky letter!
Hopefully, the teacher stopped this letter before it left the classroom. If they didn’t, let’s all hope that the soldier has a really good sense of humor and laughs this one-off. Kids are nuts!
Whole
Sometimes you see something that just stops you in your tracks. This little girl’s note to her family for Valentine’s Day is one of those things! Now, we can tell what she was trying to write, but what she ended up with is so much worse! There is a good chance that she doesn’t know what it means, but we’re willing to bet money that her family had a very long laugh about this one!
She should get some credit for trying her best! Hopefully, her family teaches her the correct way to spell the word before she goes to school and tries to spell it again!
Simplicity
This one is great! It brings back old memories of days when relationships were easier. This little boy did the brave thing of asking a girl to be his girlfriend. Unfortunately, she’s already in a relationship. But he gets to be next when she breaks up with her current boyfriend. You have to love the simplicity of it all. It’s great. These kids are better at relationships than some adults!
Both this little girl and little boy are lightyears ahead of their peers and some adults. Honesty is best when it comes to love, and the two of them have no problem displaying that.
Poem
This little girl has the right idea! Her poem is perfect. Nothing needs to be changed whatsoever. She loves her mother more than rainbows, blue skies, buttercups, butterflies, and cows. What else is there to talk about! To make things even better, she’s even drawn her picture of a happy little cow at the bottom of the page. Her mother had to have loved this one. Who wouldn’t? It’s a work of art!
We wish we had someone to write us such moving poems! We hope this little girl got a hug and kiss from her mother after giving her this poem. That’s all that matters in the end.
Honest
This kid is getting right to point with his Valentine’s Day message. It’s a little blunt and harsh, but his mother likely still appreciated the card. At least he’s being honest! She’s most likely made him hundreds of meals and he’s just telling her how much he appreciates the fact that she wants to keep him alive longer. Aren’t kids just the best? This card is perfect for Valentine’s Day.
This kid’s parents will never have to worry about them being open and honest. He has that covered! This is a card that we are sure will bring out lots of laughs over the years.
Unconditionally
The little girl who wrote this letter understands what it means to love someone unconditionally. Her definition is just a little bit different than most people's, but it is fitting for how old she is. She’s young, but if this note is anything to go on, then we know that she’s a great friend now, and will probably continue to be one as she gets older! She is on the right track!
Isn’t this letter great? It’s silly, funny, and cute. It captures everything so good about Valentine’s Day. We wish that we could be friends with Emma! She seems like a good friend.
Demands
It seems like the kid that wrote this note is trying to make some demands at his home! We can’t say that we’re mad at him. Cleaning your room is boring and hard. We doubt his parents went for the deal, but we admire him for the courage to try to get his way! We love how plain and straightforward this Valentine’s Day note is. This kid isn’t playing games this year!
This kid’s parents probably had no idea that they were raising a professional negotiator. There is a good chance that this won’t be the last time he tries to get his way!
Mars
This little girl is going places. To be specific, it looks like she is headed to Mars. She tells her parents how much she loves them, but she also lets them know that her love for them is nowhere near the love she has for space! Hopefully, they don’t take that too hard. At least she’s offering them the chance to come and visit her when she goes to Mars. That’s kind of her!
To be fair to this girl, we understand how she can love space more than her parents. We also love the fact that she already knows what she wants to be when she grows up!
Problem
This young boy loves both of his parents. We can tell that by the funny and cute little picture that he’s drawn of them. It’s also clear that he thinks his dad may have a problem with passing gas a little too often. Kids never hold back! They will tell you exactly what you think whenever they want. Hopefully, this little boy’s dad took this jab lightly and stops passing gas all the time!
Parents can never seem to catch a break! This dad probably thought he could get away with passing gas occasionally, but not with this kid around! Oh well. It makes for a funny card!
Homicidal
This is quite the collection of Valentine’s Day notes here. They range from sweet and funny, to bizarre and possibly homicidal. How are you supposed to react when you open a Valentine’s Day card that is wishing a painful death upon you? Do you toss it out or call the police? We have no clue what this kid was trying to say with this card, but we hope that next year will bring better cards!
We’re a little speechless. These cards probably took everyone who saw them by surprise. Love brings some intense and crazy feelings out of people, and these cards show that that includes children!
Potato
Here is a photo by a child that knows how to make people smile and laugh! He’s given a nice compliment to someone! He’s a bit of an artist as well. This potato is not a human, but it’s a good drawing. This kid knows that Valentine’s Day is all about making people feel loved and accepted. That’s what he’s done here! Whoever this letter was for, it’s our guess that they loved it!
Getting a personal picture or a photo always feels nice. But we would accept a drawing of potato just as much. This little kid is already ahead of the game!
Sometimes
We would love to know why this kid only loves their mother sometimes! It’s better than not at all, but it’s still harsh. But honesty is better than lying, so we guess it’s alright. Look at all the exclamation points. This little kid is serious about what he’s saying. Their mother and father probably had a long talk with them after finding this Valentine’s Day note. Maybe they’ll write a nicer card next year!
Well, it’s no secret that your parents can sometimes get on your nerves. That’s what we’re hoping this little kid is trying to say with this card! We hope their mother wasn’t mad.
Friends
This one is adorable. The little hearts at the bottom of the page make it even better. It shows that they care about the person they wrote it for! We love that they both like each other, but one of their mothers won’t let them be in a relationship, so they are deciding to just stay friends and play together! That’s extremely cute. They even apologized for their sloppy writing!
There’s nothing wrong with just being friends! That seems to be where this relationship between these two kids is heading. We hope that they stay friends for a very long time!
Piece of Poo
No one said being a mother was an easy job. This mother and her child have clearly had some bad days in the past. The kid called her mother a piece of poo and said that she hated her. That’s pretty tough! But it’s also clear that she loves her mother. She called her mother her favorite mommy! We think that balances things out a little bit. This letter is pretty funny!
Sometimes people don’t see eye-to-eye. That seems to be the case with this little kid who wrote this Valentine’s Day card for her mother. We hope the two of them have made up!
Number Two Spot
Ouch! This card is as funny as it is brutal. You have to love the honesty of the child. They even finished the note by saying that they loved their teacher. That makes things a little bit better, right? But the teacher Rachel is probably thinking about what she can do to make it to the number one teacher spot next year. It looks like she has a tough judge to impress.
Kids don’t know how to hold back, and this Valentine’s Day letter shows that. We love the little oblong heart in the center of the picture. It sort of eases the burn!
Brutal
This Valentine’s Day card is a perfect example of a kid being brutally honest. We like how this kid starts with saying I love you to his mom and then jumps right into calling her out about burping at the bus stop. That’s brutal. Their mother likely thought that this card was cute. Hopefully, this little boy and his mother have many more good days at the bus stop together. This card is perfect!
Burping can be funny, but it seems like this little kid didn’t see the humor in their mother burping at the bus stop every day! We can only hope his mother keeps it going!
Serious
Here we have a kid that takes love seriously. He doesn’t want his feelings played with. We can relate to that! This is also a very straightforward Valentine’s Day note. Hopefully the girl he wrote it for wasn’t scared off by it! We can’t help but laugh at the amount of space between the only paragraph on the page and the signing off at the bottom. It’s so professional and formal.
This letter sounds like it was from a person handling a big business deal or something. That probably scared the girl! We would love to read how the girl replied to this one.
January 28th
This kid must have the most amazing memory ever, or the meal his mother made on January 28th, 2004 was just that good! We can’t imagine any parents not appreciating this note. It’s cute and the specific date being mentioned makes it pretty funny! All three of them probably had a lot of laughs about this one. They are going to remember this card for years and years. It’s so great!
Sometimes you eat a meal that you can’t forget. Maybe that was the case for the kid who wrote this note. I think we’ve all been there before! His parents probably appreciate the thanks.
Banana
This card is going to make this little kid's mother happy. There are a couple of compliments, the drawing of the banana, and the little extra at the end of the note. It’s everything you need for a great and very meaningful card. We especially love how he complimented his own eyes, and then changed them to compliment his mother’s. That’s perfect! We think it's safe to say that his mother enjoyed this card.
This kid needs a little help with spelling, but other than that, he has the right idea of how to make someone happy with a card. We love this one!
Ho
Here we have another kid with a future in science. We don’t know if this was done on purpose or not, but it’s much funnier if it was an accident. Imagine being the teacher and receiving this in class. You would have to laugh at it! At least he knows his periodic table of elements! That may be the only good thing to take away from this card! We love it!
Well, you can’t say that this kid isn’t creative. This may not be what the teacher was looking for, but he did follow the rules and instructions given to him.
Cool
This is a list of honest and blunt Valentine’s Day cards from little kids, and this one has to be among the bluntest on the list. The kid starts by telling the person they are writing to that they are cool, and then quickly switches up to say that they can be better. Ouch! We can’t imagine that that one is going to go over well with whoever gets this card.
We can only hope that the receiver of this card has thick skin. This card is as honest as honest gets. We hope that we don’t cross his path in the future.
Right Place
Well, the little boy who wrote this Valentine’s Day note seems to have his heart in the right place. He loves his mother, father, and then Shawn, Kate, and Tyler, who may be friends or siblings. We aren’t sure. But that last one is a bit confusing. We aren’t sure why this kid loves the 26th President of the United States, but we aren’t here to judge! You keep doing you, little guy!
This is one of the stranger notes on the list, but that’s what happens with little kids sometimes. They don’t always think before acting, speaking, or writing. That’s what makes them so great!
Cute
This is a top-class note. There was some thought put into this one. The kid who wrote this has a good future ahead of him when it comes to dating. He may also have a future as a chemist by the looks of it! It’s a shame that the teacher intercepted it. The girl that this note was meant for probably would have loved this. Maybe they’ll get another chance someday.
We can’t stop laughing at this one. It’s great. It’s creative, cute, and fits the spirit of Valentine’s Day perfectly. This young kid has a very creative and funny way of thinking.
Love Potion
Here’s another sweet little kid trying to brighten someone’s day. It looks like this teacher’s student wants her to share the treats she’s been given with her husband. Now, we don’t know what the kid means by “love potion”, but we’ll leave that up to their teacher to decide. We just think the card and snack are perfect for Valentine’s Day. Maybe this kid’s gift will lead to his teacher having a good night!
Kid’s are a mess. This child’s teacher most likely saw this gift and laughed at it. We’re sure her husband probably got a few laughs out of it as well.
Sweetest and Kindest
If there a yearly award for the sweetest and kindest kid alive existed, it would go to this kid! We’re sure her mother probably enjoyed this little note during a time when she’s not feeling her best. The kid is quick and to the point. They even included a drawing on the card. If this mom has any other kids, we have to imagine that this one is her favorite of the bunch!
It’s little things like this that show why kids are awesome! Who wouldn’t want to have someone write little love notes to them during the day? It would make the day so much better!
Snacks
Kids are the best! This little kid has some grammar issues going on in this note, but that’s alright. It’s the thought that counts. And it’s very evident that this kid loves and adores their mother. Who knows, maybe they’ll even turn into a poet at some point! Whatever they choose to do, we assume that their mother will be right there cheering them on. They have a great relationship.
We hope that this kid is saying that their dad is eating their snack and not their pet snake. Either way, there is a lot of love in this family!
Comedian
This letter is from a future comedian! We love the sly reference to Star Wars. Other students probably enjoyed the joke as well. Jokes like this one show how special kids are. This card will be something both the teacher and student can look back on in years and laugh about. Hopefully, the two of them stay in touch over the years. We’d love to get an update in the future!
We think that the teacher probably won’t receive a better gift from one of her students in a while. She’ll probably keep it on her desk to brighten up her day!
Shirt
This may be one of the funniest Valentine’s Day cards on this list! This kid seems to be thanking his mother for his new shirt, but he forgot a very important letter when it came to spelling shirt. Luckily this was going to his mother and not a teacher. That would have been really bad. This kid’s family will probably show this card to friends and family for a laugh!
This one seems like an honest mistake. At least that’s what we hope. This kid could be in big trouble if he did this on purpose! It’s a really funny card!
Ominous
This card is a little bit ominous. It almost reads like the kid knows something that their parents do not! That’s spooky. We hope that’s not the case and that this kid is just saying that they are wishing their parents safety and good health. That would be a lot better, and much less creepy! Once again, this shows that children can be brutally honest whether they mean to be or not.
Well, we can only hope that this kid can’t see into the future and knows something that his parents do not. That would be terrifying. Hopefully he just really cares about their safety.
Short Grandma
Now, this is a funny card. We’re guessing that the little kid who wrote this Valentine’s Day note probably has a short or small grandma that he gave this to. This boy's grandma probably immediately fell in love with the card when she first saw it. The hearts around the outside of it are a nice touch! Who knows, maybe this little kid will grow up to be an artist someday.
This is a good card. It’s short, sweet, and funny. The child’s grandma probably wasn’t expecting a card like this for Valentine’s Day. We hope that it made her day!
Mixed Messages
Sometimes children can send mixed messages. And we don’t think we’ve seen a better example of that than with this Valentine’s Day card. We get the sentiment behind the card, but the wording makes it a little confusing. None of that matters, though. We’re sure whoever received this card probably loved it. And in the end, that’s what truly matters! They even finished the note with the important message saying that you can’t buy love!
Kids sometimes struggle to get their ideas out clearly. It ends up being confusing and cute like this letter. Maybe they’ll have better luck with writing their card next year!
Straightforward
How could you not like this one? It’s cute and thoughtful! Maybe adult relationships would be better if people were this straightforward with their feelings! We love the little illustration that the kid drew for the girl. We think this kid will probably be good at relationships as he gets older if he can keep being honest like this. Hopefully the girl he wrote this to feels the same about him. That would be great!
This one is great. We wish we had been this clever as kids, but we were just shy and kept to ourselves. Not this kid. Good for him! This is cute.
